Threads from Duxbury's Past:
a rotating exhibit of historic fashion
from the Duxbury Rural & Historical Society.

The Duxbury Free Library and the Duxbury Rural & Historical Society (DRHS) announce a new collaboration to bring pieces of history to the community. An archival case on the library's upper level holds items from the DRHS collections under the direction of Madelon S. Ali, Chairman, Historic Clothing Committee.

This project was funded by generous donations from Mrs. Jane Fogg and the DRHS. The case will display one or two pieces at a time on a four month rotation. The Library will provide accompanying displays and materials with each piece.

This fall, the first exhibit is a burgundy-colored silk dress with woven pattern of pink flowers donated by Mrs. Fogg; it belonged to her great, great-grandmother of Kentucky in the mid 1800's:

of the Duxbury Cultural Alliance and Duxbury Business Association's community-wide Holly Days celebration.
